Sandra Sue (Hunter) Wilkerson

Sandra Sue Wilkerson, 71, of Scipio, passed away at 3:50 p.m. on Monday, June 8, 2020, at Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Born August 25, 1948, in Greensburg, she was the daughter of the late Andy Hunter Sr. and Florine Knarr Hunter. She married Marvin Wilkerson on July 26, 1970, at the Zion Baptist Church; he survives.

Sandra was a 1966 graduate of Greensburg High School in Greensburg and worked for Right Way Fastener in Walesboro; she had previously worked for Saps Bakery and Arvin’s, both in Columbus. She was a former member of Rock Creek Baptist Church in Jennings County. Sandra enjoyed cooking and babysitting.

Surviving with her husband of 49 years, Marvin, is a son, Ryan Wilkerson of Scipio; brothers, Roger (Judy) Hunter of Florida and Andy Hunter Jr., of Greensburg; sisters, Helen Byard of Greensburg and Elsie (Paul) Blogett of Ohio; grandchildren, Lucas Wilkerson and Lauryn Wilkerson, both of Scipio.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A funeral service for Sandra will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 12, 2020, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, June 11, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Burial will be in the Scipio Cemetery in Scipio.
