Scotty Wayne Woods

Scotty Wayne Woods, 58, of North Vernon, passed away at 8:17 a.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus.

Born February 17, 1962, in Marion, he was the son of the late Buddy Wayne and Doris Jane (Elliott) Woods.

Scotty graduated from high school in 1980 and went on to serve in the U.S. Navy from 1980 until 1982. He had worked at Enkei in Columbus for four months and had worked maintenance at NVIC in North Vernon for sixteen years. He enjoyed hunting, target shooting, and listening to music.

He is survived by his children, Amanda (Cody) Gullett, Buddy (Tessa) Woods, Josephine (Bradley Embry) Woods, Joseph Woods, and Jimmy Woods, all of North Vernon, and Timothy Scott (Jessica) Woods of Seymour; siblings, Steven (Linda) Woods of South Carolina, Lila Terry of Salem, Valessa (Ollie) Cornett of Deputy, and Tammy (Robert) Woods-Roberts of Seymour; and grandchildren, Morticia Woods, Vibol Woods, Paradise Woods, Hunter Woods, and Sky Fletcher, all of North Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his granddaughter, Daisy Gullett.

A funeral service for Scotty will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2020, at Rice Cemetery in Salem. Family and friends may call at the cemetery from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon.
