Sinda (Nease) Sergent

Sinda Sergent, 83, of Paris Crossing, passed away at 3:04 a.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at her residence.

Born February 5, 1940, in Buckhorn, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Dan and Alpha (Johnson) Nease. She married Billy Sergent on March 11, 1956, in North Vernon; he preceded her in death on March 9, 2022.

Sinda was a graduate of Paris Crossing High School and was a homemaker and housewife. She was a member of the Model A Club and Lancaster Baptist Church in Lancaster. Sinda enjoyed quilting, crafting, and cooking.

Survivors include her daughter, Sue (Mike) Ross of Commiskey; daughter-in-law, Pam Sergent of Paris Crossing, grandchildren, Melissa (Mike) Humphrey of Madison, Jessica (Nathan) Marshall and Kristen (Rob Gentry) Sergent, both of Columbus, Lindsay Sergent and Dylan Sergent, both of Paris Crossing; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, William Michael Sergent; brothers, Jim and Jerry Joe Nease; sister, Jeanette Criss.

A funeral service for Sinda will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Lawrence “Skip” Napier officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.  The burial will follow in the Coffee Creek Christian Church Cemetery in Paris Crossing.

In lieu of flowers Sinda request donations of toys and or funds be given through the funeral home to Muscatatuck Christian Ranch for the annual food and toy giveaway.
