Stella Jean (Wilder) Thompson

Stella Jean Wilder Thompson, 63, of North Vernon, passed away at 12:15 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2024, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born May 18, 1961, in Seymour, she was the daughter of the late Baylor Wilder and Lula (Kelly) Wilder.

Stella enjoyed fishing, cooking, playing Bingo, and watching Little House on the Prairie and classic movies. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her sons, Clayton Wilder of Columbus and Derek (Sarah) Thompson of Greenwood; daughters, Kendra Oner of Rochester, New York and Abigail (Jeremy) Nikirk of Iowa; sisters, Phyllis (Clifford) Dunn of Austin, and Rosemary Chew of North Vernon; and eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Dennis Thompson II; brother, Baylor Wilder; and sister, Doris Fleenor.

A visitation for Stella will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 24, 2024, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with a closing prayer at 8:00 p.m. by Evangelist Daniel Ison.

Memorials in honor of Stella may be made through the funeral home for expenses.
