Sue Stroud Obituary

Sue Ann Stroud, 73, of Scipio, passed away at 11:26 a.m. on March 19, 2020, at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis.

Born May 31, 1946, in Corydon, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Lena (Bierley) Toler. She married Donald Stroud on September 5, 1970 in Georgetown; he survives.

Sue graduated from New Albany High School in 1964. She went on to work as an attendant for AWS, now Benchmark, in Columbus and DSI in addition to having worked as a secretary for Burroughs. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in North Vernon and enjoyed sewing and quilting.

She is survived by her husband, Donald Stroud of Scipio; son, David Stroud of Elizabethtown; daughter, Angel Joy Stroud of Scipio; and grandchildren, Abigail Grace Stroud and Elijah Lucas Stroud, both of Elizabethtown.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by her sister, Lillie Trinkle.

A funeral service for Sue will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2020, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon with Rev. Caleb Reynolds officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 23, 2020.

Memorials may be made in honor of Sue through the funeral home to Trevecca Nazarene University.
