Susie Marie (Spears) Stiening

Susie Marie Stiening, 56, of North Vernon, passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at her residence.

Born February 1, 1965, in Bartholomew County, she was the daughter of Dora (Patton) Spears Leonard and the late Williams Spears. She married James William Stiening on July 14, 2012, in Jennings County; he survives.

Susie worked as a caregiver for Bridges of Indiana in Columbus leaving in 2016. She was a member of New Bethel United Methodist Church in Jennings County. Susie enjoyed bowling, doing crafts especially diamond painting.

Surviving with her husband, James; are her son, Greg Baker of Wisconsin; daughter, Jessica Miller of Edinburgh; brother, mother, Dora (Gary) Leonard of Elizabethtown; David (Mary) Leonard, of Scipio; sister, Rose (Mark) Leonard of Columbus.

She was preceded in death by her father, and a sister, Teresa Miller.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Burial will follow in the Bear Creek Cemetery in Jennings County.

Memorials may be made in honor of Susie through the funeral home for expenses.
