Teresa Lynn (Renfro) Elzea

Teresa Lynn Elzea, 66, of North Vernon, passed away at 10:35 p.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at her residence.

Born November 3, 1959, in Madison, she was the daughter of Everett L. Renfro and the late Nellie Mae Walls Renfro. She married Samuel Elzea on January 11, 1986, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in North Vernon.

Teresa was a 1978 graduate of South Ripley High School and retired as a bookkeeper for Jackson County Bank in Seymour where she had worked for several years. Teresa enjoyed fishing.

Surviving with her husband of 40 years, Samuel; are her sons James Elzea and Aaron Elzea, both of North Vernon; and her father, Everett Renfro of Holton.

She was preceded in death by her mother, and two brothers, Timothy and Melvin Renfro.

A funeral service for Teresa will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Scott Fangman officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.
