The Obituary of Terrence Levi Colbert Sr.

Terry as he was called, attended public school in North Vernon and graduated from North Vernon High School in 1965. He was very active in several sports. “Teko” was his well-known nickname in school and his adult life.
When Terry was attending Engineering school in Louisville, Kentucky he was introduced to Allane Soules by his former classmate Carol Scroggins. After the Navy he was employed at Arvin Industries in North Vernon in the 1970’s.
Terry and Allane began dating again in July of 1970 and eloped on August 31st, 1970. They had a small church wedding with his grandmother, the Rev. Susie Shelton, who was officiating the wedding ceremony. It was Allane’s first visit to North Vernon. Terry loved his hometown, and Allane immediately loved the small town’s community.
