Thomas William “Bill” Money, 98, of Seymour, formerly of Butlerville, passed away at 9:27 p.m. on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at his residence.
Bill was born on June 30, 1923, in Terre Haute, he was the son of the Ivan and Violet (Watkins) Money. He married Edith M. Yeager on December 10, 1942, in Vernon; she preceded him in death
Bill served in the United States Navy on the USS Anne Arundel during World War II. He worked as a welder and in maintenance at Cummins Engine Company in Columbus for 32 years before retiring in 1988 and was a hobby farmer. Bill was a member and Past Master of Butlerville Masonic Lodge #219 in Butlerville and a member of Jackson Lodge #146 in Seymour. He was a 57-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. He served as Past Patron for the former Esther Chapter in Hope 5 times and was a current member of North Vernon Chapter #183 in North Vernon. Bill enjoyed working, gardening, flowers, going to his farm, traveling, and building RC model planes.
Survivors include his daughters, Patty Money of Scipio, Joyce (Tim) Hamblen of Seymour, and Kathy Lowry of North Vernon; brother-in-law, Raymond “Spud” (Bonnie) Yeager of North Vernon; sister-in-law, Sharon “Sis” Yeager Trilling and Beulah Kemp Yeager, both of North Vernon; grandchildren, Ryan (Angie) Money of North Vernon, Rachel (Jeff) Lubker of Brownstown, Kelly (Bill) Heindel of Scipio, Amanda (Chris) Unger of Ohio, Jenifer (Jerry) Hill of Seymour, Maggie Lowry of Oklahoma, and Cassie (Patrick) Richardson and Lucy (Bobby) Wyatt, both of Indianapolis; great-grandchildren, Dana, Jonathan, Jacob, Leia, Ashley, Kevin, Zack, Jessica, Jackson, Kelby, Collin, Grant, Amaya, Fred, Edith and Robby; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; son, Mike Money; son-in-law, Tim Lowry, daughter-in-law, Cheryl (Kellar) Money; brothers-in-law, Otto Trilling, Charles Yeager, and Bill Bridenthrall; and sister-in-law, Ruth Yeager Bridenthrall.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon. Eastern Star and Masonic Services will be conducted starting at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow the memorial services in the Vernon Cemetery with military graveside rites by members of Matt Hester Post #2021 V.F.W.
