Threasa L. Kenens Ramey Asher, 78, of North Vernon, passed away 7:25 a.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born July 24, 1946, in Ripley County, she was the daughter of the late Lester “Tiny” and Gladys June Swinney Kenens. She married Joseph A. Asher Sr. on November 22, 2003, at the Muscatatuck County Park; he preceded her in death.
Threasa was a 1964 graduate of North Vernon High School and attended Ivy Tech College for three years. She was a seasonal tax preparer for Indiana Tax Professionals for 18 years. Threasa enjoyed playing cards, especially Hand and Foot, karaoke, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a mother to all and loved everyone.
Survivors include her sons, Daniel (Christy) Ramey and Dale (Melissa) Ramey, both of Scipio; her daughter, Colleen Gabbard of North Vernon; brother, Michael (Judy) Kenens of Jonesville; sisters, Donna Wilson of Scipio, Sarah Thomas of Edinburgh, and Diana Satterfield of Columbus; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and several extended family and friends who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband of 17 years, Tom Ramey Jr; her second husband of 3 years, Joseph Asher; and brother, James Kenens.
A celebration of life for Threasa will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at the home of her daughter 175 W. County Rd 580 N., North Vernon. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home in honor of Threasa to the American Cancer Society.
