Tom "Zeke" Joseph Roberson

Tom “Zeke” Joseph Roberson, 78, of North Vernon, passed away at 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2020, at I.U. Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born May 16, 1942, in Brewersville, he was the son of the late Luther L. and Elma Jane (Pool) Roberson. He married Carol (Lamb) Roberson on August 19, 1961, in Columbus; she survives.

Zeke graduated from Vernon High School in 1961. He had worked for the City of North Vernon, for Lee Properties for 19 years, and for Cummins Engine Company for 37 years before retiring in 1999. He enjoyed mowing grass, watching NASCAR, going to the Boat, traveling, and helping others.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Roberson of North Vernon; children, Tami (Doug) Mills of North Vernon and Troy (Laura) Roberson of Decatur County; siblings, Albert Roberson of Seymour and John (Jane) Roberson of Vernon; grandchildren, Derek (Laura) Mills and Bryson (Katie) Mills, both of Sellersburg, Amanda (Dwight) Grimes of Fountaintown, Travis Roberson of Indiana, Trent Roberson of Columbus, and Vanessa (Stuart) Book of New Albany; and great grandchildren, Elsie Grimes and Wade Grimes, both of Fountaintown, and Maddox Mills, Paxton Mills, and Lennox Mills, all of Sellersburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Edna Marie Roberson, Mary Proctor, Luzerna Hutchison, Dorothy Bowerly, and Alice Coombs; and brothers, Bobbie Roberson and Wayne Roberson.

A funeral service for Zeke will be held at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2020, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Our Hospice of Jennings County or to Christ Way Christian Church.
