Vernon L. George Jr.

Vernon L. George Jr., 63, of Indianapolis, passed away at 12:10 a.m. on Friday, December 25, 2020, at Lakeview Manor in Indianapolis.

Born March 31, 1957, in Prince William County, West Virginia, he was the son of Vernon George Sr., and Alice Jerrie (Spicer) George.

Vernon attended the DSI – workshop and enjoyed tinkering with radios and watches and looking at pictures.

Survivors include his sisters, Brenda Rogers and Terri (Ken) Miller of Florida; nieces and nephews, Chelsea (Colton) Hinckley of Michigan, Savanna Miller of Florida, Joseph Miller of Georgia, and Amanda (Steven Filson) Barnsfather of North Vernon; and great-nieces and nephews, Daniel Hinckley, Tiffany Hinckley, Madison Hinckley, and Jayden Hinckley, all of Michigan, BrookeLynn Barnsfather, KatieLynn Barnsfather, Justin Barnsfather, Austin Barnsfather, and JadeLynn Barnsfather, all of North Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Beva Barnsfather.

A graveside memorial service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Thursday, December 31, 2020, in the Bear Creek Baptist Cemetery in Jennings County with Warren Lucas officiating. Visitation will be held in the Bear Creek Baptist Cemetery from 11:30 a.m. until time of the service.

Memorials may be made in honor of Vernon through the funeral home to help with expenses.
