Violet Jean Adams
Violet “Jean” Adams went to her Heavenly reward on July 23, 2021. Jean was born in Medora, IN on June 23, 1926, to James and Fannie Lawson.
Jean came from a loving, close-knit family of six sisters, Mildred Greathouse, Irene Freeman-Rosenbaum, Bernice Robertson, Rosie Davis, Genevia Lawson and Thelma Shelton; and one brother, Warren “Bud” Lawson.
Jean is survived by one daughter, Susan Elder of Lexington, KY, and three grandchildren, Josh Elder, Jordan Elder, and Kim Loesch. Jean’s son, Bruce Armuth Loesch, Jean’s parents, and her siblings have all preceded her in death along with her first husband, Dort Lucas, second husband, Lawrence Loesch of Columbus, and third husband, Paul Adams of North Vernon. Remaining family includes many nieces and nephews.
Jean greatly enjoyed her work at Marion Kay Spices in Brownstown and with the Bartholomew County Government, but most notably she loved her life as a homemaker. Her family gatherings were sizable events, hosting at times 30-40 extended family members and friends. She was a person of great faith and enjoyed using her creative skills for church functions and other related events.
Those whom Jean welcomed into her circle would say she was a warm, loving and a giving individual. She was a former member of Grace Lutheran Church in Columbus and, as a recent resident of North Vernon, a member of Lord of Life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Lord of Life Lutheran Church in North Vernon, Grace Lutheran Church in Columbus, or Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana.
A funeral Service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Garland Brook Cemetery in Columbus.
