Virginia Mae (Hall) Robbins

Virginia Mae Robbins, 86, of North Vernon, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at Columbus Transitional Care & Rehabilitation Center.

Born October 14, 1932, in Spencer Township, she was the daughter of Ralph and Mary Alice (Strickland) Hall. She married Melvin Robbins on January 14, 1971 in Hope.  

Mrs. Robbins was a 1950 graduate of Hayden High School and 1954 graduate of St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as the plant nurse for Reliance Electric for 13 years and worked as an RN in several states from California to Columbus. Mrs. Robbins taught Sunday school at the Nazarene Church in North Vernon and was a member of Scipio Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed knitting.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Melvin Robbins of North Vernon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Darla Brand and sister, Emmijean Wolf.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 29, 2019, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Richard Burcham officiating. Family and Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana.
