Walter Nathan "Buddy" Olds

Walter Nathan “Buddy” Olds, 61, of North Vernon, passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2021, at his sister’s residence.

Born April 19, 1959, in Seymour, he was the son of the late Walter and JoAnn (Blankenship) Olds. He married Rebecca “Becky” Misner on September 27, 1980 in North Vernon; she survives.

Buddy was a Jennings County High School graduate and worked as a supervisor for 32 years at Caltherm Corporation in Columbus. He was a member of The Worship Center in North Vernon. Buddy was in several bands and loved music. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and bushwhacking.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca “Becky” Olds of North Vernon; brother, Kevin (Susan) Olds of North Vernon; sisters, Sharon Carpenter of North Vernon, and Susie Decker of Tamarac, Florida; and several nieces and nephews, who he was a parent figure to and showed them the meaning of love.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Teri Ezzo.

A funeral service for Buddy will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Dale Boyd officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, January 11, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Burial will follow in the Vernon Cemetery.
