Warnell Caudill, 88, of Dupont, passed away at 11:45 p.m. on Friday, July 3, 2020, at his residence.
Born June 6, 1932, in Blackie, Kentucky, he was the son of Corbett and Betty Jane (Ison) Caudill. He married Gladys Iwerks on September 3, 1960, in Denver, Colorado; she survives.
Warnell served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He owned and operated Warnell Caudill Trucking for 42 years and had previously owned and operated Caudill Feed Mill in Butlerville. He was a 50-year member of Butlerville Masonic Lodge and received several safe driver awards. Warnell enjoyed cattle farming, fishing, being outdoors, target shooting and hunting.
Surviving with his wife, Gladys, are sons, Joseph Caudill and Mark (Melissa) Caudill, both of Butlerville, and David (Gail) Griffith of Louisville, Kentucky; daughter, Kathy Stephens of Butlerville; and grandchildren, Aaron Griffith of LaGrange, Kentucky, Casey Griffith of Nashville, Tennessee, Kristin Stephens of North Vernon, and Marissa Caudill and Allison Stephens, both of Butlerville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James, Willie, and Amon Caudill; and sisters, Maelean Lee, Devenee Whitaker and Maudell Griffith.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2020, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 9th from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Dupont Cemetery.
