Warren Reed Obituary

Warren Douglas Reed, 67, of Mountain Top, PA died peacefully Saturday morning, September 23, 2023, at his home with his wife by his side.

Born in Seymour, IN on November 18, 1955, he was the son of the late N. Dallas and Mable (Lane) Reed.

Warren spent his early years in Scipio IN where he graduated from Jennings County High School in 1974. He was married to Debra Ann Troupa of Indianapolis, IN on August 25, 1979, in Indianapolis and raised three children in the Mooresville, IN area.

In 2000 his employer, Cardinal Logistics, relocated the family to Mountain Top, PA where Warren was an instrumental part of building Cardinal Logistics and built the foundation for one of their largest customers. Warren was employed with Cardinal for 25 years, most recently as Regional Manager.

Warren enjoyed hunting grouse and pheasant in South Dakota and Vermont, and bear and deer from his buddy’s cabin in PA. His passion was fishing. He fished the East Coast from Block Island, RI to the Florida Keys, Lake Ontario, the Gulf of Mexico, Ken-Ray Lake, IN and the Zambezi River in Zimbabwe.

Warren loved music…the 70’s, the symphony, and the great songs of the faith. He played acoustical and bass guitar on worship teams in churches in IN and PA. He kept everyone ON BEAT!

In 2015 & 2018 Warren traveled to Madagascar and Guatemala to visit the missionaries and projects that he had supported over the years. His heart was truly for the abused and forgotten people in these parts of the world. His wish was for support to them to continue after his passing.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his brother Olin Reed and his brother-in-law Cecil Martin.

Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Debbie; son Scott Reed and his wife Damaris of Wilkes-Barre, PA; son Joseph Reed of Indianapolis, IN; daughter Sarah Monteleone of Wilkes Barre, PA and granddaughters Hayley and Abigail Mellas. Also surviving are his brother Gary Reed and his wife Shari of Indianapolis, IN, sister Connie Martin of Scipio, IN, and sister-in-law Jana Reed of Columbus, IN.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 30 at 1 pm at the Krapf & Hughes Funeral Home-Crematory, 530 West Butler Drive, Drums. Friends and family are invited to call at the funeral home Saturday morning for a viewing period that will begin at 11 am and continue until the time of service.
