Wauneta Lou Sampson, 87, of Miamisburg, Ohio passed away at 8:15 a.m. on Monday, April 4, 2022, at Kettering Health in Miamisburg, Ohio.
Born June 20, 1934, in Scipio, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Violet (Dean) Carnes.
Wauneta worked in housekeeping at Red Roof Inn in Miamisburg, Ohio for 20 years. She was a member of First Methodist Church in Franklin, Ohio. Wuaneta enjoyed reading the Bible and praying.
Survivors include her sons, Sam (Judy) Sampson of Louisiana, David (Anna) Sampson of Texas, Warren (Jewell) Sampson of South Carolina, Bryan Sampson, of Miamisburg, Ohio and George (Christine) Sampson, of Middletown, Ohio; daughters, Sharona (Glenn) Mueller of Wilmington, Ohio and Rhonda (James) Stephens of Shelbyville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Brandy Williams of Anacoco, Louisiana, Jared (Helen) Williams of Port Aransas, Texas, David (Jenn) Sampson of Calgary, Canada, Brooke Sampson of Killeen, Texas, Calista (Evan) Williams of South Carolina, Jeffrey Jones of Xenia, Ohio, Christopher Sampson of Unionville, Tennessee, Joseph Sampson of West Carrollton, Ohio and Dylan Sampson of Miamisburg, Ohio and; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her great-grandchildren, Landen and Oliver Sampson.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 8, 2022, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service with Rev. Al Davisson officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Bear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Jennings County.
Memorials may be made in honor of Wauneta through the funeral home for Hospice of Dayton.
