Wendall Lee Axsom

Wendall Lee Axsom, 67, of North Vernon, passed away at 5:15 a.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Morgantown Woods of Journey in Morgantown.

Born December 7, 1956, in Bloomington, Monroe County,  he was the son of the late Clonia Houshour and Stanley Axsom.  

Wendall attended school in Bartholomew County and graduated from Seymour High School in 1974. He was employed for many years at Lear Sigler in Seymour. Wendall enjoyed his hobby of old cars and collecting knives, taking walks in the woods, and his hound dog, Rowdie Sue.

He is survived by his sister, Wanda Faye Murphy of Seymour; his brother, Paul Dean (Ruth Sheryl) Axsom of North Vernon; granddaughter, Morgan; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, his father, and his only son, Paul Dallas Axsom.

In keeping with his and his family’s wishes cremation is planned with no services to be scheduled at this time. Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon were entrusted with the care of these arrangements.
