William Keith “Bill” Breedlove, 86, of Columbus, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at Willow Crossing Health & Rehabilitation Center in Columbus.
Born June 3, 1932, in Shelburn, Indiana, Bill was the son of Ernie W. and Vanetta (Bardon) Breedlove. He married Phyllis Kathleen Lawhorn in Costa Mesa, California on October 30, 1954, she survives.
Bill was a 1949 graduate of Shelburn High School in Shelburn, he served in the U. S. Navy from 1950 until 1954. He retired as a supervisor from Cummins Engine Company in 1984 after 28 years. Bill enjoyed carving walnuts, woodworking and motorcycles.
Surviving with his wife, Phyllis Breedlove, is a son, Ben Breedlove of Columbus; daughters, Diana (Al) Breedlove-Hall of DeLand, Florida, Mary Ellen Breedlove of Columbus and Patricia Lynn (Don) Lee of Edinburgh; sister, Betty Carty of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Allison Hadley and Joe Noe both of Columbus, Taylor Marie (John) Seegraves of Scipio, Elaina (Rob) Ashby of Madison, and Carrie Polak and Ann Marie Jarrell, both of Illinois; eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gene Breedlove; sister, Marlene Diedoff; and great-grandson, Lucas Cole Hadley.
A closing prayer will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2019, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon. Visitation will be on Saturday, May 25, 2019, from 12:00 p.m. until time of closing prayer. Committal Services will follow with military graveside rites at Baldwin Cemetery.
