William Larry "Bill" Rushing Obituary

William Larry “Bill” Rushing, 65, of North Vernon, passed away at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2020, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.

Born December 14, 1954, in Gary; he was the son of William Charles and Tishie (Ladd) Rushing. He married Kay Streight on June 15, 1985, in Portage; she survives.

Bill was a 1973 graduate of Thomas Edison High School in Gary and worked as a DST for the former Muscatatuck State Developmental Center in Butlerville for 6 years before retiring in 2002; he had previously worked for Thomas Steel in Illinois. Bill enjoyed woodworking and being a handyman.

Surviving with his wife, Kay, is his brother, Ronny (Karen) Rushing of Winamac; and sister, Paulette Wagner of Hobart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Glenda McBrayer.

In keeping with his family’s wishes cremation is planned with no services to be held at this time. Arrangements were entrusted with the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Memorials may be made in honor of Steve through the funeral home for help with expenses.
