Willis Roberts

Willis Roberts, 69, of Commiskey, passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Born December 8, 1951, in Lovett, he was the son of R.J. and Marjorie (Callahan) Roberts.

Willis graduated in 1970, in Monterey Bay, California, He served in the U.S. Army from 1970 until1973. He worked as a roofer before retiring in 1990, working for Marksberry Roofing and Henshaw Roofing, both of North Vernon. He was a member or the National Roofing Association, Moose Lodge, Eagles Lodge and Am Vets Post #7, all in North Vernon. Willis enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting and playing music, especially stringed instruments.

Survivors include his daughters, Farrah Hemenway of North Vernon, Heather (Tony Pearson) Roberts of Commiskey, Justina (Curtis Roccia) Roberts of Jonesville, Kaitlin Roberts of Commiskey and Bobbie (Jason Harrington) Palmer of Jonesville; son, Travis Palmer of Florida;  brothers, Raymond (JoAnn) Roberts of Commiskey and Roscoe (Anita) Roberts of Henryville; sister, Katrina (Jim) Miller of Hayden; grandchildren, Haylee Roberts of North Vernon, Brice Graham of Commiskey, and Emma Roberts and Addlynn Richards, both of Jonesville.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his companions, Nancy Mullins, and Deborah Pike.

Family will receive friends to celebrate Willis’s life on Saturday, June 5, 2021, after 3:00 p.m. at his home, 4105 W. County Road 600 S., Commiskey, Indiana 47227. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Memorials may be made in honor of Willis through the funeral home to the Am Vets Post #7 or North Vernon Moose Lodge.
