Gerald Wayne Wentworth

Gerald Wayne Wentworth, 74, of North Vernon, Indiana passed away at 3:06 p.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at his residence.

Mr. Wentworth was born January 3, 1939 in Switzerland County, Indiana the son of Ralph and Marie Liter Wentworth. He married Connie Dunning on December 11, 1954 in Vevay, Indiana; she survives.

He worked for Swann Sales as a warehouse worker from 1994 until his retirement in 2007; he had also worked in delivery for the Sears Store in Columbus, Indiana, ComPonX in North Vernon, Indiana for 4 years, Dependable Auto Service in North Vernon, Indiana for several years and was a farmer. He was a -member of Cross Plains Church of Christ, A.A.R. P. and N.R. A. and attended First Christian Church in North Vernon, Indiana. He attended Vevay High School in Vevay, Indiana. His enjoyments were riding motorcycles, hunting and farming.

He is survived by his wife, Connie Wentworth of North Vernon, Indiana; three sons, Gary (Karen) Wentworth and Larry Wentworth of Vevay, Indiana and Tommy (Lachelle) Wentworth of Lafayette, Tennessee; three sisters, Ada Aldred of Vevay, Indiana, Barbara Voris of Greenwood, Indiana and Janet Wentworth of Cross Plains, Indiana; twelve grandchildren, Amy (Jason) Hoskins of East Enterprise, Indiana, David Wentworth, Laura Beth Wentworth both of Vevay, Indiana, Greg Wentworth of Carrollton, Kentucky, Catrina (Mike) Marsh of Hawaii, Alicia (Dave) Pettigrew of Danville, Illinois, Amber (Rickey) Jetton and Kattie Holland, Timmy Wentworth and Josh Holland all of Lafayette, Tennessee, Jamie Mitchell of North Vernon, Indiana, Hollie Wentworth of Indianapolis, Indiana and eighteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Timmy and Gerald Lee Wentworth, one daughter, Tammy Ann Wentworth, one brother, Douglas Wentworth and two sisters, Blanche Willms and Jo Ann Reed.

Memorial Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 25, 2013 at the First Christian Church in North Vernon, Indiana with the Rev. Anthony Sweeney officiating. Friends may call at the First Christian Church in North Vernon, Indiana on Friday, January 25, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery in Cross Plains, Indiana.
